LiveStats Report Filters
Filters are used when configuring the Content Mappings, Custom Reports, Client Exclusions, and
Dynamic Content settings.
When you add new filters to an existing setting, the filters will only apply to the web site data recorded after you create the filters. In this situation, you may want to reprocess the statistics so that the new filters are applied to the historical data.
Note: The section below on adding a filter is provided as a general introduction on LiveStats report filters. Additional information on using filters is included within the instructions for the Content Mappings, Custom Reports, Client Exclusions, and Dynamic Content settings.
Adding a Filter
When creating a filter, you can type the keyword(s) directly in the Filter box (1 in Figure 1) or click the Select From List button (2 in Figure 1) to open a list of Page URLs or Referring URLs. Click a keyword from the list to add it to the Filter box.

Note: You can add more keywords to the filter by returning to the list.
There are different methods you can use to filter URLs:
| |
|
|
To filter for Page or Referring URLs that start with a particular keyword, simply type the keyword (e.g. xyzcompany). |
| |
|
|
To match Page or Referring URLs with a keyword exactly, use the # symbol in front of the keyword (e.g. #index.asp). |
| |
|
|
To filter for Page or Referring URLs that contain a keyword anywhere in their name, use the * symbol in front of the keyword (e.g. *google). |
To improve the detail of the filter, use the Boolean operators "AND" and "OR" between keywords. By default, keywords are linked by the "OR" operator. To filter Page or Referring URLs that match all keywords, type the "AND" operator between keywords.
